After an impressive week one, the Oracle of Delphi returns with insights, predictions and prophesies for the week 2 games.

GAME OF THE WEEK:

(Admiral Power Rankings/Official MFN Power Rankings in brackets)

Diamonds (8/28) @ Daggers -14 (1/2)
MFN Spreads: Daggers -14 APR Spread:Daggers -3.5
Points Over/Under 44.5

The Daggers were ultra impressive in week one. The only team to put up 50+ points, the Defense was mean too, in both yards gained and points conceded. Kimberley were also impressive in a 26-9 victory - for some reason the Official Power rankings weren't impressed by the win.

This game makes it as GOTW largely due to the owners history with each other. Home field looks to be a critical factor in this game.

The Oracle says: This game could go either way, Daggers cover the LOL spread by winning a thriller by 4. Both Offenses will find the Endzone, but points will still be hard to come by - less than 44.5 points

Five other TV games this week

Gold Nuggets (19/11) @ Flying Serpents (6/7)
MFN Spread: Flying Serpents -7, APR Spread: Cusco -3.5
Over Under: 44.5

The Oracle says: Home field is key here with two teams who started with strong home wins in key divisional games. Well under the Vegas spread of 44.5 points. Two teams who could meet again come playoff time later in the season. Serpents squeak home by a single point

Conjurors (32/23) @ Labradors (30/20)
MFN Spread: Labradors -4, APR Spread: Conjurors -0.5
Over Under: 29.5

Two teams that got absolutely battered in week one and will be looking to bounce back quickly and restore some confidence within the ranks.

The Oracle says: Error strewn affair Las Vegas look the slightly stronger of the two on paper - they win by 6 in a low scorer that goes to the wire.

Red Dragons (10/10) @ Jumbos (5/3)
MFN Spread: Jumbos -11, APR Spread: Mumbai -1.5
Over Under: 44.5

Mumbai were arguably the surprise package of week one, with a dominant win over divisional rival Baghdad. Things are going to continue to be tough as they host another divisional foe this week in Beijing. Back to back wins would see Mumbai very much in control of the Asian division.

The Oracle says: Good looking game on paper, could come down to who gets the most momentum plays - turnovers crucial here. Liking Beijing to win and cover the spread, Under on the points as defenses smother the life out of the game in the second half.

Firecrackers (9/14) @ Royals (6/9)
MFN Spread: Royals -8, APR Spread: Royals -2.5
Over Under: 24.5

Two teams who won thanks to stifling defenses in week one. Both will be keen to open their respective TD accounts for the year. They might have to wait another week.

The Oracle says: A low scoring, nailbiting, game where field position will be key. First team to 10 points probably wins it. Edinburgh by 3, under on the points

Hex (24/30) @ Chilli Peppers (16/4)
MFN Spread: Tabasco -9, APR Spread Tabasco -8.5
Over Under: 25.5

Hugely important divisional game for Haiti. Nullified completely in week one but defended stoutly in a 9-0 defeat. Tabasco were impressive in there win in Manaus against Amazon and will look to build on that solid base here.

The Oracle says: Chilli Peppers cover the spread in a 10 point win. The Hex will score there first points and a shock win could be on the cards IF they can start well and stop TCP or at least hold them to FG's.

Settlers (2/1) @ Djinn (19/12)
MFN Spread: Settlers -14, APR Spread Roanoke -10.5
Over Under: 50.5

The Oracle says: Jeddah have their work cut out here to try and slow down a rampant Roanoke. Delphi sees, over on the points with the Settlers covering the spread in an easy win

Assassins (28/26) @ Sphinx (23/22)
MFN Spread: Sphinx -6, APR Spread: Baghdad -2.5
Over Under: 29.5

Two teams who barely got started in week one. Baghdad looked lethargic in a surprise home, and more importantly, divisional defeat to Mumbai. Luxor were strangled out of the game in a ten zip defeat at home to the Black Forest Elves.

The Oracle Says: With an extra week of training/practice, both teams should be better this week. Ultimately, Baghdad look stronger and will cover the spread comfortably in a 10 point win. Total points will be under the low total set

Lightning (16/8) @ Crocodiles (19/14)
MFN Spread: Lightning -5, APR Spread: Lightning -6.5
Over Under: 39.5

Thunder Bay were involved in the second highest scoring game of the week on the season opening weekend. They will fancy there chances of adding more points here. Defensively they did look a little lax and The Nile will look to expose them once again on there home debut.

The Oracle says, this looks like being a very good game. Thunder Bay should have enough to win by 10, thus covering the spread. The over looks to be setting a shade too high.

Stallions (13/17) @ Eskimos (17/29)
MFN Spread: Stallions -1, APR Spread Kentucky -3.5
Over Under: 40.5

Both sides got caught a little cold in week one and will be looking to get back on track here. Stallions were much hyped in pre-season and find themselves in real danger of falling into an 0-2 hole. Alaska struggled to keep pace with a potent looking Thunder Bay, if they don't improve that in this week's home opener, it could be a long season ahead for the Eskimos.

The Oracle says, Kentucky to win easily covering the spread in a 17 point win. The Mystic Prophet predicts over for the points.

Rhino (25/32) @ Admirals (15/15)
MFN Spread: Admirals -14, APR Spread Admirals -2.5
Over Under: 27.5

Zambezi had a tough road opener in Kimberley and should have enough weapons to cause the Admiral rearguard some issues. Admirals won a thriller in week one, thanks largely to a lightning quick, swarming D and a potent quick strike, if somewhat inefficient Offense

The Oracle says: A 4 point home win, with one TD proving decisive in a low scorer which will go under the low 27.5 point spread.

Bulls (22/21) @ Pirates (3/2)
MFN Spread: Pirates -14, APR Spread Montego Bay -20.5
Over Under: 34.5

This could well be the most lopsided game of the week. Montego Bay already look like one of the League's elite teams. Barcelona, not so much.

The Oracle says, a crushing 17 point win for the Pirates, over on the points.

Poison Dart Frogs (28/31) @ Sabretooths (18/13)
MFN Spread: Sabretooths -14, APR Spread Tiger Bay -10.5
Over Under: 32.5

Tiger Bay struggled to move the ball last week but came away from Victory Field thinking they should have won the game. The Frogs really struggled against an under-rated Chilli Peppers outfit.

The Oracle says, this will be much closer than the spreads suggest. A low scoring match, under on the spread, with Tiger Bay edging it with a late field goal sealing an 8 point win
MFN Spread: Sabretooths -14, APR Spread Tiger Bay -5.5
Over Under: 50.5

Blue (27/18) @ Blarney Stones (11/6)
MFN Spread: Killarney -11, APR Spread Killarney -4.5
Over Under: 30.5

Judging on the two teams opening games, this will be a low scoring, defensive masterclass. Killarney's home field advantage should see them come out on top.

The Oracle says, Baku will make this tough but Killarney have too much quality and eventually will run out comfortable winners by 11 points and just nudging over on the points

Elves (12/4) @ Ice (21/25)
MFN Spread: Elves -11, APR Spread Elves -12.5
Over Under: 30.5

The Elves go in as heavy favourites but both teams look to have strong defenses. Ice kept a very solid looking Killarney in check for large parts of last weeks game.

A low scoring 7 point win for Black Forest with under on the points spread is the Oracle's pick

Smoke (31/24) @ Gauchos (26/27)
MFN Spread: Gauchos -1, APR Spread Gauchos -3.5
Over Under: 34.5

Two sides who played quality teams in week one and came up short. This represents a chance to get campaign up and running.

Oracle says, Buenos Aires at home should have enough for a ten point win in a game that somewhat surprisingly goes over the points spread
