Caracas Firecrackers are changing to Petrópolis ZweigDue to complicated situation in Venezuela, the franchise was forced to find a new home. It was moved from Caracas to brazilian city Petrópolis that is located north of Rio de Janeiro.
The new name for the franchise is Petrópolis Zweig. Stefan Zweig was a famous austrian writer and humanist who escaped from Nazi occupation before World War II and settled in Petrópolis where he lived for the rest of his life. He was chosen as a symbol of a belief in humanity and peace after forced leaving of the original base in Caracas.
The rebranded franchise has quickly found a lot of new supporters across the whole world who are sharing the common values with the franchise. Fans has started to call their new favorite team “The Zets”.
